Monster Cookies

The origins of the unusual name, “Monster Cookies,” is unclear. But these sweet treats are certainly a “monster mash” of many varied cookie ingredients – peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips, and M&Ms to name a few. Together, they become something far from monstrous! This sweet combination makes a chewy, nut buttery, oat filled, and chocolate dotted dough that is almost impossible to resist before it even hits the oven. Out of the oven, these cookies maintain those drool-worthy qualities, but with crisp edges, chewy centers, and melty chocolate. So much YUM!! These cookies will make a cookie monster out of you!

More Reasons to Love Monster Cookies

  • Monster Cookies are one of the few unabridged cookie recipes that are already gluten-free without any substitutions.
  • These cookies (despite the chocolate and sugar) contain peanut butter, oats and eggs, which sneak some protein and nutrition into dessert.
  • Halving the sugar in the recipe creates a chocolate dotted breakfast cookie that will knock out those morning cravings.
  • The recipe is quick and easy to whip up with common kitchen ingredients. And no need to refrigerate the dough before baking!

Monster Cookies for Every Occasion

Monster Cookies make me think of back to school. Maybe it’s the peanut butter or the oats – or maybe the basic colors of the M&Ms. Change up the color of the M&Ms to make festive cookies for any occasion. And you can find nearly any color you to need right here. Try:

  • Red and green M&Ms for Christmas
  • Pastel M&Ms for Easter and springtime
  • Brown, green, and orange M&Ms for Halloween
  • Pastel pink, blue, or yellow M&Ms for baby showers
  • School colors M&Ms for school-spirited events like graduations, college acceptances, homecomings, PTA events, etc.
